A Seat at the Table
Lauren Wong
M. Landscape Architecture
Given the rich network of assets already present in this neighborhood (culturally diverse communities, multiple places of worship, an extensive food fabric of family-owned restaurants, alternative grocers and community gardens), it feels important to find synergies among current strengths. “A Seat at the Table” is an event that sparks an intergenerational exchange between children, elders, and youth in the community through food sharing. Intended as a collaborative low-budget endeavor, this project functions first as a potluck and second as a way to tell stories that otherwise may be lost.
