The Mt. Baker neighborhood is surrounded with plenty of green areas consisting of several neighborhood parks, the MLK Jr. Memorial Park, as well as the Cheasty Boulevard and the Mt. Baker Boulevard, both of which are part of historic Olmsted Parks. Yet these green areas are mostly scattered on the edge of the town center, causing an accessibility gap for pedestrians and bicyclists in between the green spaces and the urban village. A new green space network would better reveal and connect the existing parks and natural environment within the urban fabric. The network identifies places in the neighborhood to connect the greeneries to the community, increasing accessibility and programs.
